This makeover by CSI Kitchen & Bath Studio in Atlanta gave an old, white-on-white-on-white bathroom a little more pizzazz.
BEFORE

An arched window was replaced with a larger rectangular one to let in more light and give a more contemporary feel.?In place of the corner tub is a larger shower, with a shower seat extending from the tub deck, and a custom open shelf unit for storage. The white-marble tile on the floor and shower walls accented with a mixed glass-and-marble mosaic adds interest to the shower, tub surround and backsplashes. Alder cabinets in a dark-chocolate stain contrast with the white marble for a cool, crisp look that?s super fresh!

SHANGHAI (Reuters) - Market forces are mostly to blame for the yuan's unprecedented fall against the dollar in recent months, market participants say, with Chinese regulators now busy propping up the currency, marking a major reversal in approach as the country's economic growth slows.
The yuan has fallen 1.4 percent against the U.S. dollar this year and touched 10-month lows, its first period of extended weakness since China's landmark de-pegging of the currency in July 2005.
In the past, China's trade partners -- the United States in particular -- complained that the Chinese government deliberately undervalued its currency to support exports.
The decline of the yuan this year has led some to suggest that Beijing is deliberately flogging it downward, but the recent behavior of the currency does not support that argument.
Market participants who spoke to Reuters said that enduring weakness in the euro and other non-dollar currencies are mostly to blame for the yuan's recent fall against the dollar. The yuan actually rose 1.3 percent in nominal terms against a broad basket of global currencies in the first six months of 2012.
But most global trade is still settled in dollars, and drastic declines in the dollar/yuan rate could destabilize China's domestic markets, by making imported oil more expensive, for example, encouraging capital outflows and adding to overall economic uncertainty in the world's second-largest economy.
Thus, where China's regulators once worked to cap the yuan's rise, they now appear to be scrambling to hold it up.
"The weakening of the yuan is more than anything a response to market conditions," said Robert Minikin, senior FX strategist at Standard Chartered in Hong Kong.
"(But) it's not wise for authorities to allow a trend of weakening the renminbi to develop. It runs the risk of sparking instability potentially in domestic markets."
LIFTING WITH THE MIDPOINT
To stem excessive depreciation, the PBOC has relied on the official midpoint fixing -- the base rate that the central bank uses to signal the government's intentions toward the yuan's value -- to establish a market floor.
The spot yuan has been allowed to show increased volatility since April, but is still restricted to trading within 1 percent of the fix in either direction.
In a reversal of long-established patterns, spot yuan began to consistently trade weaker than the midpoint in March, indicating that the central bank's guidance is, if anything, serving as a check on market-driven depreciation.
Between July 2005 and the end of the third quarter 2011, a period when economists widely agreed that the yuan was significantly undervalued, the yuan closed weaker than the midpoint only 37 percent of the time, mostly in periods of global economic stress.
Otherwise, the spot rate consistently pushed towards the strong end of the band, with periodic interventions by the central bank the only thing preventing further gains.
But since the fourth quarter last year, the ratio of days the spot prices have traded below the midpoint has increased to 61 percent, including every day since April 9 this year.
Even as the PBOC has adjusted its midpoint in response to rise of the dollar globally, the yuan has strayed gradually farther from the midpoint in recent weeks. (For a graphic on the trend, click: http://r.reuters.com/zyj69s)
CORPORATE DOLLAR DEMAND
Dollar demand from corporates is also dampening the yuan.
"There is some evidence which suggests that cumulatively in recent years, corporate dollar-selling had run ahead of the amount that was strictly required for trade reasons," said Minikin at Standard Chartered.
"It seems like the corporate sector may have developed an overall short dollar position."
Chinese commercial bank clients bought $3.5 billion more dollars from commercial banks than they sold in June, official data shows, compared to a monthly average surplus of $66 billion in the first five months of the year.
"There has been a shift in clients' mentality. Companies are no longer so eager to trade in their dollars for renminbi," said a trader at a large Chinese bank in Shanghai.
Similarly, foreign interest in yuan-denominated investment products, fueled by expectations of further appreciation, has also shown signs of growing more selective this year.
In the fourth quarter of 2011, as fears of a Chinese hard economic landing intensified, the yuan frequently traded near the weak end of its daily trading band. During that period, clients bought a net $4 billion in dollars a month from commercial banks, an abrupt shift from the $42 billion they offloaded in the first three quarters.
Data on China's foreign exchange reserves also shows that far from buying up the excess, reserves declined by 65 billion yuan in the second quarter to $3.24 trillion by the end of June.
If the central bank were intervening in the market by selling yuan in exchange for dollars, FX reserves would have risen.
Traders have periodically detected signs of central bank dollar selling aimed at boosting the yuan in recent months. Such reports are impossible to confirm, but use of FX reserves to defend the yuan would explain the decline.

Bryant McKinnie?s back in Baltimore, with an apparently bad back.
McKinnie told Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times he?s been missing from Ravens camp because he slipped and fell outside his South Florida home and twisted his lower back.
?I had an accident. I?m over it. I?m here to play football,? McKinnie said.
McKinnie?s been MIA since camp opened and was placed on the reserve/did not report list, incurring fines of $30,000 per day.
?Of course, I?m glad to be back,? McKinnie said. ?I?m kind of disappointed, though. ?I?ve been training hard, I?ve been boxing and doing all this stuff. To have a setback like this is disappointing.
?Why isn?t anybody saying I got hurt? I don?t know what people thought was going on. How I got hurt is running out of the house. It was slippery and I fell and hurt my lower back. You can?t be playing football when your back is hurting. When I fell, I said, ?I know I ain?t going out like this.??
McKinnie?s bewilderment at anyone wondering where he was ignores one significant point: With him, it?s always something.
The Vikings ran him off for being overweight, and he?s worked to get that under control with the Ravens. But they?ve moved Michael Oher to left tackle for the moment, and may be inclined to leave him there, if McKinnie can?t get on the field and do something.

THE DAY'S ACTION
So, two more swimming world records were broken on Sunday and Spain's highly favored football team tumbled out of medal contention after losing to Honduras.
American Dana Vollmer won the 100 butterfly in a world record and was followed by Cameron van der Burgh of South Africa, who set a world mark to win the 100-meter breaststroke.
The biggest surprise of the day came from France's 4x100-meter freestyle relay team, which upset the favored United States and Australia.

Hope Solo's angry Twitter rants are U.S. coach Pia Sundhage's latest challenge.
The U.S. women's soccer team won 3-0 Saturday against Colombia, but Solo, the U.S. goalie, took exception on Twitter to comments by her former colleague Brandi Chastain, who is now a TV commentator.
"The game has changed from a decade ago," Solo tweeted.

EYEING THE ODDS
Determined to see a British sports book, I discovered William Hill in Euston. It's nothing like Las Vegas.
Think more like an empty OTB. One television showed the Olympics. The rest were airing dog racing.
But the variety was interesting. They've got bundled bets such as Usain Bolt winning the 100 and 200 meters and the U.S.A men and women's basketball teams both winning gold at 9-to-4. A soccer bet at 8-to-1 bundles the Brazilian men and the American women to win the gold.
The overwhelming favorite is David Rudisha of Kenya in the 800 meters at 1-to-12. The next closest is the American women's basketball team at 1-to-10.
For a big payoff, go for the "Olympic Football Yes/No." Pick all six correctly, including if all six substitutes will be used in the Britain vs. Cameroon women's soccer match, and it pays 33-to-1.

KAMPALA, Uganda (AP) ? The deadly Ebola virus has killed 14 people in western Uganda this month, Ugandan health officials said on Saturday, ending weeks of speculation about the cause of a strange disease that had many people fleeing their homes.
The officials and a World Health Organization representative told a news conference in Kampala Saturday that there is "an outbreak of Ebola" in Uganda.
"Laboratory investigations done at the Uganda Virus Research Institute...have confirmed that the strange disease reported in Kibaale is indeed Ebola hemorrhagic fever," the Ugandan government and WHO said in joint statement.
Kibaale is a district in midwestern Uganda, where people in recent weeks have been troubled by a mysterious illness that seemed to have come from nowhere. Ugandan health officials had been stumped as well, and spent weeks conducting laboratory tests that were at first inconclusive.
On Friday, Joaquim Saweka, the WHO representative in Uganda, told The Associated Press that investigators were "not so sure" it was Ebola, and a Ugandan health official dismissed the possibility of Ebola as merely a rumor. It appears firm evidence of Ebola was clinched overnight.
Health officials told reporters in Kampala that the 14 dead were among 20 reported with the disease. Two of the infected have been isolated for examination by researchers and health officials. A clinical officer and, days later, her 4-month-old baby died from the disease caused by the Ebola virus, officials said.
Officials urged Ugandans to be calm, saying a national emergency taskforce had been set up to stop the disease from spreading far and wide.
There is no cure or vaccine for Ebola, and in Uganda, where in 2000 the disease killed 224 people and left hundreds more traumatized, it resurrects terrible memories. There have been isolated cases since, such as in 2007 when an outbreak of a new strain of Ebola killed at least 37 people in Bundibugyo, a remote district close to the Congolese border, but none as deadly as in 2000.
Ebola, which manifests itself as a hemorrhagic fever, is highly infectious and kills quickly. It was first reported in 1976 in Congo and is named for the river where it was recognized, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
A CDC factsheet on Ebola says the disease is "characterized by fever, headache, joint and muscle aches, sore throat, and weakness, followed by diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach pain. A rash, red eyes, hiccups and internal and external bleeding may be seen in some patients."
Scientists don't know the natural reservoir of the virus, but they suspect the first victim in an Ebola outbreak gets infected through contact with an infected animal, such as a monkey.
The virus can be transmitted through direct contact with the blood or secretions of an infected person, or objects that have been contaminated with infected secretions. During communal funerals, for example, when the bereaved come into contact with an Ebola victim, the virus can be contracted, officials said, warning against unnecessary contact with suspected cases of Ebola.
In Kibaale, some villagers had started abandoning their homes in recent weeks to escape what they thought was an illness that had something to do with bad luck, because people were quickly falling ill and dying, and there was no immediate explanation, officials said.
Officials said now that they've verified Ebola in the area they can concentrate on controlling the disease. Ebola patients were being treated at the only major hospital in Kibaale, said Stephen Byaruhanga, the district's health secretary.
"Being a strange disease, we were shocked to learn that it was Ebola," Byaruhanga said. "Our only hope is that in the past when Ebola broke out in other parts of Uganda it was controlled."
The challenge, he said, was retaining the services of all the nurses and doctors who are being asked to risk their lives in order to look after the sick.
"Their lives are at stake," he said.
Officials also worry that other villagers suffering from other diseases might be afraid to visit the hospital for fear of catching Ebola, he said.

Mpasua is a renowned Swahili author. He says that most of his publication have been circulated online, sold online and made him a better person and a better writer online.
He takes time to write his books and he is never in a hurry to publish because he believes that a good book will stand the test of time long after he has left.
He has been able to author Swahili novels, plays, short stories, grammar, articles and even topical books on pertinent issues like HIV AIDS, water, ?sanitation, climate change, female reproductive system just to mention but a few. Are you looking for books with Swahili content on the above subjects? Well they are there and do exist.
Mpasua Msonobari chose to write in his native language, Swahili, because of various reasons. The main and overriding reason being that one is able to best express himself in his native language, the language he thinks in and even acts in more than a second or third language. He believes that there are some issues that are affecting the community and society in Africa that need to be addressed in the African languages so that the readers will understand better in a language that they identify with and are able to relate with it on a one on one basis as if it was their fellow human being.
Mpasua has written serious publications that have had an impact to the society on very basic yet important issues that affect us in our day to day living. These are issues like reproductive health, hygiene and sanitation and keeping fit.
Among his best selling publications is ?Learning Swahili is fun?. That is volume 1, 2 and 3. This is a Swahili learner?s book which is in three volumes. It takes the Swahili learner and the passionate speaker of the language through the key and important steps of learning, grasping, speaking, writing and expressing oneself passionately and with ease in the Swahili language.
?
Another one is ?Swahili Phrasebook ? How to survive using Swahili? This publication covers all the phrases and words that you will need to survive using the Swahili language. It gives simple and interesting illustrations. This one has sold already hundreds of thousands copies and goes for only 20 USD.
?Mteremko Mgumu? This is a Swahili novel which if directly translated means a steep downhill. This addresses the myriads of life which we have to go through in extremely different scenarios to those we expected.
?Jipende mwanamke? This is a reproductive health publication which figuratively bring out the stumbling blocks of life. It addresses the myriads of reproductive health related complications especially to women like fibroids and severe crumps. He says NGOs really liked this since it demystified some of the things that women had thought was witch craft in a language that they understood and enjoyed too.
One of the major challenges of authoring a Swahili book is that you have to strike a balance between using the correct Swahili that will stand the test of time and making the content of what you are authoring to be as realistic and as appealing as possible to the reader at the same time. Needless to say that so many scholars and fanatics of the language have flooded the market with Swahili publications that are below the standards of Swahili grammar and even the general appeal to the reader of the language.? This makes it hard for a genuine keen reader of the Swahili language to differentiate which Swahili publication he/she would go for.
Mpasua believes that the future the Swahili publications is online and due to this he has started various online campaigns that are geared to mentoring Swahili authors from all over the world in an effort to increase the Swahili content on the internet. Are you interested in joining the Swahili campaign of how to be a better Swahili author?
One of his mentors in being a reputable Swahili writer is the Swahili Guru, Wallah Bin Wallah whose Kiswahili Mufti elementary school Swahili publications inspired him to also become a unique Swahili writer. The Kiswahili Mufti books offered a cutting edge over the others and reinvented the Swahili language due to the intensive and accurate research of the Swahili Scholar, Malenga as his students at Mbita High used to call him.
Unfortunately, Mpasua Msonobari shakes his head remorsefully observing that many people write for money and not passion. He says this is dangerous because when the money does not come then the writing ceases. He instead opts to write as a passion and if money comes along it?s a bonus.
Mpasua is currently on a very unique Swahili publication that he says will catch many by surprise. Watch this space for more.
Call Mpasua himself on +254725084032 or simply drop him an email at msonobari@gmail.com? and he will be there conversing with you on how best you can collaborate with him as a Swahili writer or as a Partner. Are you interested in being a reputable Swahili writer? Cease the moment.
Mpasua loves and lives the Swahili language.

Russell Wallace is the CEO and founder of the Irvine based SEO company, 29 Prime.
Russell is anything but an ordinary 29 year old. At his young age, he has created and run several successful businesses. 29 Prime is his most recent and most prospective project to date.
For Russell, success hasn?t always come easy. He struggled with several health problems in his early years and has fought his way back to health. He underwent an open-heart surgery at the age of 17 and pulled through. With his new zest for life, Russell began a mortgage company, which became a million dollar venture under his leadership. After overcoming such a delicate operation, Russell was then diagnosed with Leukemia in his mid-twenties which he was able to overcome after several medical treatments. These health scares are a big factor in Russell?s positive attitude and drive.
When the economy took a big dip, so did the mortgage industry. Russell decided to leave that industry in pursuit of the next big thing. This is when he discovered the up and coming, search engine optimization (SEO) industry. He decided to begin his own small SEO company where he learned exactly what the customer?s needs are and how to meet them. He decided to take this knowledge and do SEO on a bigger level, that is when he began 29 Prime, 29Prime.com. The company?s primary goal has been to help small and medium-sized companies to improve their online visibility.
The company offers a wide variety of services to fit every business? particular needs. Relaxing with your MP3 player while you take your morning walk could cause hearing loss. Our ears can only take so much noise. To give you an idea 30dB is a whisper. 50dB is a normal conversation. A crowded restaurant could be as much as 100dB. Your ears should be able to handle this occasionally. When you leave the bar that sense of relief at the crisp night air, and near silence as you talk with your friend to the car is not something your imagining. Your ears are thankful for the break.
During the evening out with your friend your ears may have endured some damage. You may notice that your ears are ringing after your rock concert outing. By the next day your hearing should be normal. Otherwise, you may be suffering a more permanent hearing loss. This would be due to damage to the hair cells in your ears. You might notice this as not hearing so well when there is background noise. For example, not hearing your friend on the phone while the children chat in the same room. Obviously your children screaming, hollering, and jumping on the couch is another issue altogether. Another symptom of loss is tinnitus. Tinnitus is often described as a ringing, buzzing or whistle that only the patient hears. Relief is often hard to find. So how do you prevent this type of loss?
If you work in a job that has a lot of noise like construction, musician, farmer you should wear your earplugs. If you enjoy target practice you should wear earplugs. Limiting your exposure to noise is the first step in prevention. No one is saying that you should skip a night out with a friend, but take a break to step outside. Your ears will appreciate it and you will appreciate the break once you step away from the group. Stop at a local hearing center and get a hearing test. They can tell you what your hearing looks like and if any loss is something you should treat or if you can.
Not every colorado springs, co hearing center is the same. Go to http://www.miracle-ear-coloradosprings.com and find out what services work best for you.

So, when I received an email asking if we'd like to review the Kong Squeezz with rope toys, I said "Yes please!" We love new toys at Casa Elka, and I love Kong toys pretty much as a rule. They're durable, they don't smell funny, and Elka tends to react well to them.
The fact that these were squeaky toys with ropes made me think Elka would like them especially, because she will try to play tug with just about any toy. Not these, surprisingly! My second prediction, though, was correct. At least for the dumbbell one. See, if Elka doesn't want to play tug with a toy, she wants to chew it. What will she chew first? Ropes.
Really, though, the Dumbbell is just as amazing to her, if not more so, without the rope. It bounces erratically, it's just the right chewable texture, and it squeaks! The clever thing about the squeaker is that the hole the "noise comes out of" is inside the tube through which the rope was threaded. So, Elka can't chew on just that area the way she normally would.
I in fact watched her, on two separate occasions, play with the dumbbell without soliciting human interaction for half an hour or more. She chews it, shakes it, throws it around, and every once in awhile stomps on it with her paws when it's on the ground. At least one of our friends has remarked that he's never seen a dog go after things with her paws the way Elka does. Whenever she's mouthing it or moving her with her nose, she's also mumble-growling at it, which is completely adorable. I mentioned it on Twitter, and now I have to try and get a video of it.?
It alos amused me greatly to realize, belatedly, that this is yet another green toy for Elka. The other one is blue, though. Elka doesn't much want to tug with this one, either, and plays with it in much the same way. The way the ropes are looped, though, has preserved them so far. There isn't a single knot for her to focus on and destroy.
One of the balls mysteriously doesn't squeak already; I guess she chewed on the edges just enough that the air escapes from more than just the squeak valve. Or whatever technical term you might want to use for it is. This one Elka will bring to a person, so that they throw it. The double ball design means that it bounces erratically as well, something she never much seemed to care about with the plain ol' food holding Kongs. When it squeaks and bounces though, it's a hit.?
Elka even fell asleep with it in her mouth (of course her eyes opened when I got the camera, but I still got the shot).
It isn't very many toys that Elka will fall asleep with, or seek out to bring with her to different rooms of the house. Gumby is still a strong contender. But the blue Kong Squeezz with rope is one too, apparently. When I leave it out, that is. Because the rope has survived so far does not mean that I trust Elka implicitly and unsupervised with it! Additionally, the double ball one flops a good deal more when she shakes it, so that is another bonus in the Doberman book.
In conclusion, I think that the Kong Squeezz with rope, at least in these two iterations, is a pretty rocking product. It's durable, and I've mentioned before that Miss Elka isn't exactly gentle with her toys, especially toys that she loves (seems counter-intuitive, doesn't it? For all her remarkable qualities, I sometimes need to remind myself that she is still "just" a dog). They squeak, but miraculously, the noises that are produced aren't completely obnoxious. They don't smell bad. And they keep her attention all on their own, without having to share the play! Definite thumbs up, Kong. Well played.
FTC disclaimer: I received the two Kong Squeezz with rope toys pictured to test, but was not compensated in any other way for this review.

There are plenty of design tools out there from SketchUp to Autodesk that can be used to create 3D-printable models. But none are really created from the ground up with additive manufacturing in mind. That's where 3D Systems thinks it has an advantage in the crowded CAD market. Cubify Invent, obviously from the makers the Cubify 3D printer, is a beginner-friendly design tool for Windows that lets you quickly and easily spit out your creations in colorful ABS plastics. Those familiar with other CAD tools should have no problems picking up Cubify Invent, while true n00bs can use the included tutorials to learn the ropes. You can download the app at the source link for $50, or just give it a test run as a free trial. PR is awaiting you after the break.

Apple is taking a different, more cautious tack when it comes to security these days. That doesn't make it any less surprising that the company is planning to give a presentation at the Black Hat conference: the company will have someone on stage for the first time and won't just socialize in the corridors. When he takes to the podium on July 26th, platform security manager Dallas De Atley will go into detail regarding iOS' security measures in front of an audience used to finding a way around them. The company hasn't said whether that involves current or future technology; we suspect that Apple may be eager to show what iOS 6 brings to the table, however. If it all goes down like Black Hat general manager Trey Ford says it will, Apple may both open up a bit on security and set more of the agenda this week -- instead of letting conference goers set it themselves.
