Virginia Beach is considering whether to build an arena in hopes of luring an NBA or NHL team to town. If built, officials say one could begin playing in it in 2015.
The study says Philadelphia-based sports company Comcast-Spectacor has said an NBA franchise is considering the possibility of relocating to Virginia Beach, but it doesn't specify which one. It says if a move is successful, a team could play in other arenas in the state for two years starting with the 2013-14 season. The study does not identify which arenas those games would be played in.
Richmond-based Chmura Economics and Analytics will present its findings Tuesday.
